"April 2020.
At the very time when I am writing these lines, humankind is just facing a novel challenge: Covid-19, a contagious disease that has already spread and killed worldwide. It appears to be a formidable one, at least medically: infecting easily millions of people, it drives thousands of them straight to the hospital, and thousands to death... But it is also critical for its consequences: economic recession, disruptions, social and political repercussions.
There was a world before, and there will be a world after.
However, we should remark one thing among others: that the majority of infected people not only survives, but does not suffer. I certainly do not mean that Covid-19 is to be taken lightly. I only mean that it could be worse.
It could be far worse.
History is there, as a faithful reminder. History teaches us a lot. Let us simply open its dusty pages..."
