"Where the street lamps do not help it any more, night is particularly black. The sky shines with a million stars, the moon crescent is almost blinding. But on the ground, darkness reigns, impenetrable, terrifying.
The tiny silhouette hardly sees the ground on which it walks. There are small stones, brambles, ruts, detritus, various obstacles you only guess thanks to a pale reflection, a vague shadow, an impression. It walks puffing, it stumbles on the stones, with an irregular pace.
The tiny silhouette is in the empire of fear, in the empire of darkness.
The foliage is waving threateningly, over its head, far or near, impossible to say. You hear its shivering which seems to underline the silence around. Each branch is like an emaciated arm, each leaf like a hand moving forward to fell on its prey. Each tree appears like an immobile monster.
